Alternator Wire Mod?

I'm running a 145amp alt and would like to upgrade the B+ wire from the red junction block to the alt. The thing is, I want it protected (like with a fuse or fusible link), but I want it to look factory. Does anyone know of some thicker guage fusible link that would work? Or a direct replacement that's larger guage?
works wonders (ive got a 145a too)

Not yet - I'll try to take a few in the next couple of days.
One other thing that made it a little easier - when my original battery finally bit the dust in July I bought a yellow-top to replace it. I've got the original factory wires still hooked up to the side posts and the new wiring goes to the tops. Scosche has some battery terminals that accept two 4ga and a single 8ga that Wal-mart sells. I use those for the post connections.

Ok, here's a pair of pics. Basically what you see here are three ground wires - battery to alternator bracket, alternator bracket to body, and body back to battery.
Then there are two hot lines - alternator to the new mega fuse, and fuse back to battery (which parallels the existing stock wire). I did away with the original wire from the alternator to the red box.
The other cables on the hot post are for the audio setup. Also you can see the 60A maxi-fuse I added to run the efans off of (using the spare maxi location closest to the front of the vehicle.
Does this help any?

I agree. Keep the view clean. Just upgrade the wire. I recently too replaced to the 130 from the 105, and I am completely satisfied. I was getting a little more concerned when I knew the reserve in my battery was being compromised.

Bear in mind that the box cover hides 99% of the crap. I'm also planning on replacing the red battery cables that I originally used with more welding cable. Once that's done the only part that should look non-oem will be the top-post terminals themselves.
