Default How much am I holding back from my LQ4?

I just recently put in an LQ4 (stock internals) with ported 243 heads milled .010, TR 230/228 cam in my truck. I've got no other bolt ons other than a Corsa catback. My question is, how much am I really missing out by running stock exhaust manifolds, Y-pipe and airbox? Now obviously having LT's and no cats is going to make more power, but are there any estimates on how much in my case? I just want to know how detrimental this is to my current setup and whether I need to stop being a wuss about it being too loud and buy them already lol.

you're easily leaving upwards of 35 probably more, on the table... opening up that exhaust is really going to let that cam and heads to their thing.

i agree. recently a guy at silveradoss.com installed a set of long tubes on his lq9 with cam and heads and he dropped 3 tenths with no tune. i would think exhaust would be a must with any cam/head combo.

IMO, the stock airbox isn't holding you back that much. Everything else though, LT's, ORY should easily gain you 25-30 HP. Hell even buy LT's and getting a good set of High Flows you'd easily seen nice gains. If you're that worried about it being too loud, put a dynomax bullet inline in front of you muffler of choice and quieten it down.

Alright so it's pretty obvious I need LT's after tonight lol (watch multimedia section), are there any other small bolt-ons I'm missing? Are pullies and an intake really worth the money and hassle? Forget 4.10's, I'll may go that route when I get my tru-trac but for now I'm keeping my 3.73's.

3.73 is an all around great gear. i had them in the truck when i bought it and swapped to 4.11 and didnt really notice anything, so i would hold off on gears!!!! like Quik said, E-Fans, Intake, LT's, and duals with no cats would net you around 40 - 50 hp. hell i still need to get me an intake and restall my converter!!!!!!!!
