Default '97 K1500 5.7 questions

I just bought a '97 z71 with 129k. I'm having the trans rebuilt and while it's out I'm changing seals, freeze plugs, and I have a few questions. Is it suggested to swap in a High Volume oil pump when I change the oil pan gasket and rear main seal?

Is the intake manifold gasket worth replacing while I have the engine mostly apart?

Are there other regular maintenance things I should do?

Thanks.

Intake gaskets hell yes they will cost you a motor if you don't catch them when they do fail. Felpro makes a replacement gasket it's their upgrade. It's a metal intake gasket with a embossed Oring style sealing surface. It will never fail again once upgrading. The factory and most aftermarket replacements are a plastic shell gasket with a oring seal and the plastic shell cracks and they start leaking coolant. Sometimes to the inside and sometimes to the outside.

Leave the factory pump theres no reason to change it they never have problems and make more than enough pressure in as delivered form.
