Default 842 ls heads milling Questions.

okay for you guys who know more about head milling and such...

on an 842 5.3 head I am about to do new head gaskets that are .010 thinner
if i mill my heads .030 will I have to change pushrods or anything? and how much difference does it actually make. I am going to have them ported and polished also. any suggestions or answers appreciated.

A .040 gasket and .030 off the head should net you a .7 to .8 compression increase. So you'll be about 10.3ish I believe. I would say it's worth it but to others it may not be. You will have to change pushrod length with that much difference in the deck thickness
