Default 5.7 Vortec intake question

Is there enough meat in the composite runners to thread in and make bungs for an outside fuel rail and regulator? I know there is a marine intake but looks like hard to find and moderate amount of work to get to fit. Like to get that stuff out of the intake

A TPI style Vortec base and aftermarket runners might take a little extra engineering for throttle cable/cruise also.

To answer your question, a few people have tried and been unsucessful with it. Marine intakes are not that hard to find and definately not too hard to modify. Removing and tuning out the EGR makes things much simpler.

I have the L31 Marine intake on my 97 Express. Definately worth the time and effort to track one down, modify and install it.

I've seen the marine intake swap pictures, got any of yours?. Seems like a moderate amount of work. Be nice if someone had made an aftermarket intake with an external regulator and injectors back when they were new. The demand for a Vortec intake not real high now with all the LS stuff.
