Default 5.3 to 6.0

Hi all I have a 2001 Tahoe I want to swap it for a 6.0 what year s6.0 can I use can I get the same year from a Yukon and can I get away with a 03 to 04 6.0

Try to stick to a 2001-2006 6.0. The early lq4s had a longer crank due to being mated to the 4l80e. They upgraded the connecting rods in 2005. Keep in mind that the 2003+ engines are Drive by wire and use an electronic throttle body. You'll have to slap the intake you have know on it.

So get an 02 or if I get an03 just use my intake

Not necessarily. My 02 lq4 is drive by wire as well.

So let me get this right drive by wire means there's no throttle cable

01-06 you can swap all your 5.3 stuff over to the 6.0.

I can put the 5.3 intake on the 6.0 and not even fool with drive by wire can I use the 5.3 ecm and have it tuned for the 6.0 what about o2 sensors the 5.3

Everything should swap over, we did the same thing on my brothers 2000 Silverado. You can drive it without a tune but you will need one eventually. Just as a heads up, our tuner told us that the stock 5.3 injectors were close to maxed out, so you may want to upgrade.

I did this same thing in October.

Swap accessories over and have someone tune it.

As for who, ask in the tuning section to see if someone is recommended in your area. If not, Nelson does a decent mail tune service.
