4" Diesel exhaust cat-back that will kind of fit 99-06 NBS rcsb gasser?
Looking for a catback system that will get me most of the bends over the axle and most of the piping to avoid paying for a completely custom system. does anyone have experience on getting a magnaflow catback and making it work with a 99-06 nbs regular cab short bed? unless of course, custom would be cheaper...
I see a couple of 4" duramax cat-backs on summit that are under or around $300 shipped
thanks

Thats exactly what I did back in 2007 on my 2006.
I forget what company I used, but probably something like Diamond Eye.
I just bought the over the axle section. Then bought 4" desired length Magnaflow and some extra 4" straight and a 3" to 4" transition.
My truck at the time was bone stock. I cut it after it y'd and after the cat. Then used the 3" to 4" transition to get it to single 4". If I remember right the factory single was actually 2 7/8", but the 3 was made to work pretty easy. Then I welded on the 4" magnaflow and "made" the 4" over the axle section for the diesel fit and exit at the stock location.
When it was done the truck sounded awesome even though it was 100 stock and still had the stock Y and cat.
There was a actually noticeable increase in power as well, even down low in the rpms.

New custom built Y pipe to flowmaster 4" merge, magnaflow 14" 4" muffler, and 4" tailpipe, clears with my 7" drop. The tailpipe was actually two Dynomax universal pipes cut to fit. Cut out the bed support to tuck it up to the bed as close as possible.. Cost me about 800 bucks said and done.

how loud is this muffler? i have a flowmaster 40 original series that came on my truck when i bought it. with my LT, cam and ORY, it is louder than i want it to be. was hoping i could get a 4" muffler that is quieter than my flowmaster 40... not sure if 4" and quiet work together though
