2000 Silverado ECSB with K&N intake, doug Thorley long tubes with no cats, flowmaster, blackbear.


That last few weeks when I start the truck around noon, I can hear the cam and lifters for about 4 seconds which is kinda odd.. 146000 miles.. And reading low oil pressure at times. I started it up yesterday and now it has a consistent taping noise.. I have a 67 bug that I can drive for the time being.. Is it time for a 6.0 swap? I found a 2005 LQ9 for $2,800 and 140,000 miles.. I could then just bolt my mods on and re tune

$2800!!, sounds like a huge rip off.

It's possible a lifter is failing, maybe even the oil filter is causing the low oil pressure or the pump relief spring is sticking.

Hard to just guess at it.

$2800 is too much man. I paid 1700 for mine that had brand new high pressure oil pump, all new seals and gaskets, and new cam and springs

is this from a shop or rebuilder? if so what are your impressions so far?
