4.3 to 6.0 SWAP ;) (need some help)
I have a 2007 Silverado classic that I am swapping to a 6.0. Please save the comments saying "you should of just bought a 6.0 truck and you are wasting time an money blah blah blah", those would all be pointless because i already pulled everything out of the truck.
So heres a little information for you:
The truck is 2WD, crank windows, no door locks and a G80 locker, its basically a work truck and its in really good shape and is gonna be my new toy.
Now I've read the other threads about people doing this swap, however they don't provide enough information and i have some questions about the swap:
Ill just get right into it.
1.) Apparently after 03 they switched these trucks to drive by wire, so when i checked my truck i was expecting to see a wire, NOPE i have a cable going to my throttle body. So does this mean i need a 99-03 motor to swap into my truck, or should i get a 03+ motor for my truck and just swap over the throttle body to the older style (if that can even be done) or do i install the newer gas pedal into my car?
2.) I know i need a harness for the 6.0, and my 4.3 harness is out at the under hood fuse box, ( there is four or five big square connectors with screws that hold it in and it comes out. Then you basically have wires coming from the cab, going to the taillights, and going to headlights. NOW my question: do i connect the new 6.0 harness into my existing fuse box? do i need a new fuse box? Do i have to disconnect anything that goes under the dash board? Where exactly does this new harness connect at? my guess is exactly where i disconnected the 4.3 harness at the fuse box, but I've never done this swap so i wouldn't know and i want to get everything i need to complete this.
3.) My truck is 2WD, will a harness out of a 4WD truck work? (i imagine it will)
4.) Motor mounts: My mounts are out of the truck and i took out the bottom portion of the mount as well ( The two huge bolts hold this part in, i can upload pictures if needed of everything) Exactly what mounts should i get to put a 6.0 in? 2WD 6.0 mounts i imagine from a 1/2 ton truck.
5.) When it comes to transmissions, is the 4l80e any good with boost, I know the 4l60E is weak AF and i dont have any experience with a 4L80E, Do you think a stocker could handle 500 WHP? I have been considering a NV3500 swap as well while everything is out anyways and is the perfect time to do it. Any one done a manual swap? Ive done manual swaps but on Volvos, so i imagine i need the break pedal and clutch setup from a manual truck, a clutch master cylinder, flywheel, and clutch, along with necessary piping for the hydraulic lines. Will my stock driveshaft work with a NV3500?
6.) Fuel pump? is it the same as the 4.3 fuel pump?
I would appreciate any help on the subject and to clarify a few things with me.
Thanks guys!

1. The basic long block has small internal changes. Get the newest, lowest milage one you can afford. You can use any truck intake that was set up for a cable Throttle Body with a Fuel Pressure Regulator.
2. Should connect in to same fuse box.
3. Harness will work but you will need an 03 up harness to make the AC work correctly in that truck. You can re pin it for a Drive by cable TB like you have now. no need for the drive by wire stuff. You can use a Van OS to control it.
4. 2wd V8 frame and motor mounts
5. 4L80E is good, read up in the drivetrain section.
6. Same
A lot of the answers were in this thread already.---> https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-guide-378643/

if youre goin with a 4l80e try to find a harness out of a truck or van with a 4l80 to simplify the swap.... Any 4.8/5.3/6.0 harness will work, may be slight differences in connectors but mostly between years.... May be beneficial to find a wrecked donor vehicle with everything you need... Could save yourself some money and aggravation and if you part rest of it out may possibly come out financially ahead..
I have a truck intake with cabledriven tb, if you find an engine but need an intake pm me about it...

I am towards the end of my swap now!! But I need some assistance.
I ended up getting a harness out of a 2003 2500 Silverado as well as the PCM, all are installed into the truck.
Got a 2000 LQ4 to drop in as well as a 2001 4L80E.
Everything is in the truck now and hooked up.
When I go to crank it, there is nothing, the gauges come on and the security comes on as well.
Figure I needed to do the VATS relearn, however every time I try to do so , the light never turns off, this issue is driving me crazy.
Any ideas?????

The pcm is an 03 as well as the harness, I was told by a shop that this would work with my truck, so I'm hoping it's something easier than a new harness. What's a canbus?
