350 tbi build need help

Default 350 tbi build need help

I have a 350 that's bored 60 over z28 springs and vortec valves and a lt4 cam .510/.520 lobe 110 and I have a 454 tbi to put on top along with a built 700r4 with a transgo shift kit corvette servo drilled and slotted plates and a 3000 stall converter the thing I need help with is will I need a different computer chip to run the engine or will the stock one work I've been told it will work and that it won't and I've been told to put the 454 tbi on it but my 350 tbi harness plugs are different the the ones on the 454 tbi I have

Any significant changes from stock and the TBI computer as-is can't handle it. Cam change is the big killer here. It'll either run poorly, or just not give you the full advantage of your changes - and most likely both. You'll need to learn chip burning or replace the computer with a flashable aftermarket version. And of course either way, learn to tune.

Skip the 454 throttle body. Sell it to someone that needs it or doesn't know any better and get a bored-out 350 throttle body from R.V. Morse.

check out harris performance, tbichips dot com. he is well versed in tuning the old tbi motors

From the research I've done for a friend the cam you have is way to big for what the ecu and map sensor will be able to process. There is information out there building these and I think it was a cam around 204 duration and .454 that was the biggest you can get away with using. And that's after tuning with a new chip
