Default 2010 4.8L Silverado Exhaust

I have a stock 2010 Silverado 4.8L V8 and I'm looking at installing a single Dynomax 12" Bullet race muffler and dumping it under the bed. Was thinking about going from stock 2 1/2"id to a 3" bullet.
Just curious if that little change in pipe size will kill the little bit of torque I have stock?

I'm wanting a deep rumble that sounds mean idling and at cruising speeds with little drone. And of course something not so loud that will wake the neighbors late at night.

I thought the stock exhaust was 2.75 after the Y, was on my truck atleast.

Just snag a 3in pipe and pinch the ends down and welded it on the truck, you shouldnt loose anything by adding the muffler.

If you dont want it loud dont use race bullet mufflers. A straight through big 5x11 case magnaflow sounds mellow when cruising and comes to life at full throttle. Been there done that. Yes the 4.8 and 5.3 exhaust is 2.75 after the y pipe. The 6.2s got a 3.5.

The bullet muffler itself wont be too bad, but dumping the exhaust under the bed will make it loud and drone like hell! Run a tail pipe out the back either just over the axle or behind the rear tire and you won't have any drone.
