2010 2500HD 6.0L cam swap
Okay, I'm definitely a newbie at this. All the numbers about cams are confusing to me. Just trying to learn as I go. But I'm trying to get as much power out of my truck. And the next step I'm trying to invest is a cam swap. Not sure of what I need to get. I'm looking for low-end and to pend power so right now I guess I need a mid cam. Now is a mid like a 220/220? Alittle help of what cam I need would be great.

ok.... so sounds like you probably dont want to do a stall converter... which will eliminate some cam choices. Next you need to figure out if you want to keep VVT or not..(Variable Valve Timing), this will also eliminate some cams... and third you will want to look at a cam with more split than a 220/220.. You have an LY6 it sounds so you want a cam designed for 823 heads.. a 220/220 is not. L92 heads are terribly inefficient as compared to cathedrals but do flow alot. From what you are saying i would look into cams in the 214-219 intake range and 228-233 exhaust with .600 or so lift... the LSA will be around 112-115. If it was me... i would keep VVT and do a comp 401 or 402.. and have fun!

In same boat..... Most of time i get basically stage 2 ls3 off the shelf grind recommended... When im closer im probably going to make a few calls and pick a couple brains and get hashed out exactly what i want in a cam, from power to closer to stock idle speed, as well as where i want my shift points etc....
Of cams you pointed out the lingenfelter seems most likely what you want without vvt.... Still learning bout cams myself
