Default 2007 Suburban LC9 5.3L to LY6 6.0L Swap

Hello everyone I'm new to this forum and would greatly appreciate some help. I have a 2007 Suburban with the oil chugging 5.3 I want to swap with a 6.0 cause I have heard and researched nothing but good things with this swap. Now what I need help with is making sure I have everything in order before the swap like should I delete the VVT or Keep it. I have made a list of everything I need to do I think. lol

2007 Suburban 5.3 to 6.0 Swap


PARTS

1. Acquire Low mileage LY6 6.0 or flex fuel l96 Engine (2500 HD)
2. Buy New Cam (Comp Cams XTREME RPM HIGH LIFT XR265HR 212/218 .558/.563 115 LSA)
3. LS2 or LS3 pull-out cam (IF NOT BUYING A NEW CAM)
4. New 6.0 Head Gaskets
5. New Head Bolts
6. 4x Trigger Cam Gear
7. Water Pump Gaskets
8. 3 Bolts for the New Cam Gear
9. New Top Timing Chain Sprocket (IF DELETING VVT)
10. Timing Cover (IF DELETING VVT)
11. Timing Chain Tensioner
12. Hardened 7.4 Push Rods (MEASURE REALISTICALLY FOR LENGTH BUY THEM IN 0.050" INCREMENTS)
13. New Crank Seal
14. New Cover Gasket
15. 212/218 high lift with the yellow Z06 springs
16. Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
17. Never Seize for Manifold Bolts

PARTS OFF OLD LC9 5.3L
1. Motor Mounts
2. Heads (VALVE JOB AND RESURFACE)
3. Intake
4. Injectors
5. Valve Train
6. Front Timing Cover
7. Oil Pan (IF IT HAS THE LOW OIL LEVEL FLOW)
8. Throttle Body
THINGS TO REMOVE OFF LY6 6.0L

1. VVT Cam
2. Cam Gear
3. Cam Cover
4. Small Jumper Harness
THINGS TO HAVE DONE
1. Have Computer Reprogrammed (NEW 6.0 TUNE)(DISABLE DOD)
2. VVT Delete
3. Sell the Intake and L92 Heads, including Rockers
4. Wire the 2 extra wires in to wiring harness for VVT (IF GOING TO RUN WITH VVT)

First you need to decide if you are going to keep vvt or delete it... Personally i am keeping vvt when i do the lmg to l92 swap in my 08 yukon. What will also determine whether you want to keep your 5.3 heads or run the l96/ly6 heads and intake, is which cam you run...being lifted id say keep vvt for extra low end ... I had comp cams xr275hr in my 99 and was not happy with it, part of it was the lack of a decent torque converter and it being wrong cam for my setup!!! Pushrod length checker would be good investment rather than buying multiplt sets of pushrods!!! While you have engine out would be time to change engine mounts, rather than using old ones..... They are known to fail in the nnbs trucks and suvs.....

The never seize for the manifold bolts contradicts the thread sealant that is on the, get a set of new gm bolts... And a new cam retainer plate.....
