Default 2007 Escalade 6.2: What thermostat?

My 2007 Escalade with the 6.2 has just over 100k miles. It feels hot underhood and there is no actual coolant temp reading on the vehicle.

I would have to guess that this 6.2 L92 engine has a 195 degree thermostat.

Should I stick to stock or replace with a 180 thermostat?

Thanks!

Stock.

They are designed to run that warm anyway. Even if you put a 180 in there it would still run at 190+. And all engines will feel hot under the hood, the exhaust manifolds are several hundred degree's.

^^^^ Agreed. Putting a cooler thermkstat will just take it longer to warm up and be a little worse on gas mileage until its warmed up. Stay stock
