Smile 2003 flex fuel suburban upgrade

Hello people,

I have 2003 flex fuel suburban, i have looked up google and different forums and at loss on what get. I have lq4 6.0 stripped apart, going to rebuild with new internals. I need guidance on the engine build, i have already upgraded my diff to limited 3.73 by detroit. I will reuse the 317 heads but have them ported. The burban will be a weekend and some daily driving. I will be swapping a 4l80e into it.

Will be using the stock crank, i want a good cam for this pig. Mild to choppy idle is what i am looking for. Lq4 was given to me, i looked at pacesetter longtube headers.

Any input much appreciated.

while engine is gutted, up the comp. LQ4 comp is weak sauce.

dump the pacesetter idea.
Speed engineering is the rage these days. They are a sponsor here, check their threads.
