Default 2001 GMC C3 78mm dbw to NNBS 87mm help

I'm working on a friends truck and I'm having some Tbss issues .
Truck is a 2001 gmc c3 with a 78mm dbw tb

We put on a Nnbs intake with 87mm dbw tb.
We used the casper ls6 to ls2 wing adapter .
I wired it up using diagram from here LS2 throttle body harness adapters

We had to swap the brown and yellow wires since the Tb motor was going to 100% with the key forward .

It idles correctly for a second then raises idle up and reduce power light comes on .
I'm at a loss . Help!

Did you ever figure this out ? Or are we stick with the 78mm on the 01-02 dbw 2 connector set up?

The stock throttle body isn't as bad as everyone thinks. A friend of mine tested an LS3 gold blade on his swap. Then an adapter with the factory TB. They made exactly the same power. (422 rwhp)

I believe it. I’ve come to the conclusion that the hp per dollar for an LS2/3 throttle body is not worth it for me. I really wish the 87mm gen 4 truck throttle body was more of a plug and play solution. Was he able to see or feel any power band differences with the adapter and 78mm?

The graphs when overlayed mirrored each other. He did say that the throttle response feels better with the 78mm TB. He ended up selling the LS3 TB and X link, and investing that money elsewhere. I worked on a local 5.3L truck, had all kinds of issues with the X link. Put the factory TB back on, made the exact same power and no drivability issues. Those are 2 instances I have personal experience with, as you said - the HP per dollar isn't very good.
