Default What tires are you running on your street truck?

Trying to figure out what Im going to do for wheels and tires on my project. It will most likely never see a strip but get driven quite a bit, few races here and there. Only driven in the summer.

Going with 20s or 22s, not sure yet. I think 20s would be better performance minded (obviously smaller and lighter are better) but I cant find much that I like. Ive been thinking TBSS wheels in 22 since you cant get them in 20 for a fullsize.

What brand and type of tires are you running? Im 4x4 so traction shouldn't be a huge issue, but I would still like something on the performance side of things. I love the Nitto 420s on my Tahoe, but i don't know if those are what I would want? Any other opinions out there? I want something that is going to wear decent but still have some grip when I need it. I feel like the Nitto NT05 is a bit more agressive than I would need. Maybe the NT555?

Also, what tire size are you running on your 4/6 with a NBS. I know the newer trucks can take a bigger tire. Id like to stay around a 29.5" tire height I think.

285/40/20 is 29" would they rub being 285?
265/35/22 is 29.3

If you want to stay near 30" maybe look into a 265/50-20. That's what im going to next if I don't sell my centerlines.

Same here, been on the truck almost a year and they are just now showing any wear at all. If these keep lasting like this, they'll be getting replaced with the same thing Stock 275/55-20's for me.

Those look like decent tires. Affordable as well.

Im thinking 29-29.5 is where ill want to be. I can currently fit a 265/75/16 on there. Thats 31" and 10.5 wide. I think i can fit a 285. The roads are terrible around here, especially after this winter. I wouldnt mind having that extra sidewall.

285/40/20 is about 29" and 11.22 wide
265/35/22 is 29.3 and 10.67 wide
285/35/22 is 29.3 and 11.22 wide

I actually went with smaller tires after I dropped the truck. It looks unusual but hauls *** and handles very well due to being so close to the ground. I am running 235/60 R16 Sumitomo Tour LS 149mph tires:

Another option at 29" is a 255/45r20 if you don't mind loosing a little bit of contact patch(still at ~10.08 in) but with slightly better sidewall.

I think I'm going to run these in a NT05

test fitting some used 255/45r20 hankooks

I do like that size. I dont think the loss of an inch of width would be a huge thing since i have 4x4 for traction. I guess it will depend on the wheels I find.

Ive been looking at the Euromax 515 wheels in a 20. They are pretty light and they are cheap. A vendor on another site has them forsale and has been pushing them. Not my favorite design, but for the price and weight savings over a tbss 22. Idk if i can convince myself though as i really like the TBSS
