Dialing in suspension
Ok fellas I'm getting ready for the LSX Challenge(Chevy High Performance Nationals) in Commerce, GA this weekend and want to get my suspension dialed in so I have no chance of spinning and blowing any chances of winning. I just went to my local 1/8th mile track with my Mickey E/T streets and would spin every other pass(not the best track). I played around with the QA1s(up front)and Calvert 9ways(rear) but nothing really seemed to get it to hook consistently. Took the sway bar off for the first time hoping that would solve the problem but not much luck there. I need someone who is fairly experienced with dialing in these trucks to give me their input on what settings I should have my QA1's, Calvert 9way, and Cal-trac's set to. Here's the weights(with me in the truck): Front Driver Tire(1179lbs), Front Passenger(1064), Rear Driver(740), Rear Passenger(641).

did it hook consistantly this time out? add a little more air and firm up the rear shocks (5-8 clicks). try the traction bars in the bottom hole with zero pre-load (just touching the spring with the driver in the truck) let us know how it does. with cal-tracs your truck won't squat so the firmer shock settings will help plant the tires to the ground, and control the rear suspension from unloading too fast.
if you can get someone to video you next time out it could help. get it at a 45* angle or standing directly behind the truck.

Here's a good picture of me launching this weekend:
The caltracs are parallel to the ground when the truck is not under load.

if you're dead hooking it definately should be doing better than 1.79. those gears must be killing it. parallel to the ground is what you want. if it hooked consistantly just up the tire pressure 2 psi per run until it loses it. then drop it back a little and go from there.
