Weight distribution effect on front/rear suspension

I haven't been able to find a Bilstein HD shock that looks like it will fit. They are all designed for stock height or higher. The only way I've been able to find one that has collapsed and extended lengths similar to the Belltech that I already have is to search using a 2003 Silverado SS, and the only shock that they show fitting it is the 4600.

Wasn't sure if you had some stocker laying around that you tried out.
I rode in a truck that I believe had Gabriels in it and it seems really stiff compared to the OEM's in my truck.

I just went to Oreilly's and got a cheap set of Monroe Reflexes to experiment with, they are way softer than the KYBs and I think they are about perfect. The rear is pretty closely matched to how to the front feels now. I think I'm finally happy with it

still happy with stuff? So you ended up with shock sizing that fit a 03 ss? My truck came with sp belltechs and they felt a little bouncy, replaced them with new ones and a few yrs later the bounce is back.. Thinking about new shocks but would have to figure out what to go with since im slightly lowered..

I did end up with shocks for a 03 SS, yes. I believe my suspension is dropped lower than a stock SS but everything fits just fine, the shocks do not bottom out or limit suspension travel.

Edit: its a 2/2or3 with spindles and shackles, not sure what you would consider the rear since the ss never came with the axle blocks..
Care to post or pm the final shocks and part#, and ground to fender measurements you ended up with? I have the same BT shocks you just sold, and i think the fronts are close to being almost to short, along with the too stiff rears. So i kind of figured stock shocks would still work..
Yep, I am still happy with it. I feel like it's as good as it can get with the leafs and torsion bars. I'd love to link the rear end and run coilovers all the way around but it's not worth the effort and expense to me.

IIRC I'm at about 36 3/4" fender to ground in the rear and 34 3/4 in the front. I am running about a 2 3/4" body lift and 275/55R20 tires.
My weight distribution is probably quite a bit different from everyone else's. I'm about 67% over the front, 33% rear...3600 lbs front, 1800 rear.
Front:
Decranked torsion bars, GK bars from a 2500HD, F150 torsion bar adjuster cams, short Belltech bumpstops, KYB Monomax 565067 shocks
Rear:
Removed lift blocks, 2" drop shackles, removed overload springs, removed bumpstop brackets, short Belltech bumpstops, Caltracs, Monroe Reflex 911504 shocks
The KYBs are much firmer than stock, and the Reflex are really soft, not sure if that would work for everyone but since my weight distribution is off it helps quite a bit.
