I didn't. Its probably way overkill, but sometimes I sit in stop and go traffic for an hour on the way home. thats the only time the trans gets hot, so I just slapped on some fans for when there is no airflow over the cooler.

Yeah...probably not needed with the cooler you just added. Mine is really only needed when I am pulling my 7K boat up a mountain. Never really got warm even in stop and go and that is is southern California!

When do the fans come on?

Hey guys I've got a tru-cool 40k on my truck, when I installed it I bypassed the radiator and now my trans runs to cold. I cant remember if the cooler goes before or after the radiator. Thanks for the help.

I run mine to the radiator first and then to the cooler. Every instruction I have ever read for any cooler says to do it this way.

What temperature is it running at?

It is usually at 110-120* daily driving.

Mine is 120 when it's 70-75* ambient air temp. It will barely brake 100* if its under 50* ambient air temp.

I drove to Georgia where it was 30 degrees. Stuck a piece of cardboard in front of the tru cool and that kept it about 130 on the interstate. 160 around town.
