Default Transmission lines from Rad to Trans help

2003 GMC Sierra RCSB 4.8 4x4. I am installing new cooler lines from the radiator to the transmission before I put the new transmission in. Routing these pre-bent lines is a PITA!! Does anyone have any tips on getting these things in? I've done a search here, alldata and on youtube and I can't find anything showing how someone installs these things in one piece. Any help?

Completely understand. The oil cooler lines are just as bad believe me. For my tranny lines I actually went a different route. They sell AN fittings that go right into the tranny and then do a braided line. Completely bypass the stock radiator cooler. Sorry that doesnt answer your original question.

Thanks for the reply. I must be the only idiot left trying to install pre-bent lines. I need to speak to a priest after all the things I've said and done trying to install these and I'm not even catholic. I got one line in but I will not be getting the other in. I am going to keep the original connections at the Trans and rad cut the line then double flare the cut sections and run gates braided line with clamps. That'll work really good for now if not for the life of the truck.

Do you remember what your cost was on your setup?

You could do it for around 100 dollars with careful part selection. Excluding cost of the cooler.

Here are the transmission adapters for 4L60
20 bucks
Russell Transmission Cooler Line Fittings 640530 -8an
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-640520 -6an

about 80 bucks for bulk hose or less. less if you do -6an for sure.

probably about 20 bucks for misc an fittings. from the adapters to the tranny cooler.

Also check out this thread I found.

It's not easy and you have to twist and bend slightly here and there.

I did it on a 2wd though.

I am not sure how it could be done on a 4x4 with out removing some things.

If I remember correctly, I feed from the trans side up to the front of truck. As mentioned I had to bend a little and twist a little to get it to slide past points and then straighten it back out.
