The Circle D 2B is what you need. For me at part-throttle it was about 500-600rpm drop between shifts.

Default yes you can use the Traiblazer converter but not worth the effort

They are in fact different. Soooo... you're saying part nunbers are different and it's not the same part? Imagine that.
I was looking for input from someone who actually has tried this, yes they are obviously different. My point about the part number is to maybe put someone's mind at ease as to weather it will work for them. In fact I just looked at three Torque converters one is a 1996 4l60, a 99 4l60e with tow/hall and a Trailblazer 4.2 visually identical. We take the 4.2 bell housing of Trailblazer 4x2 trans and put the pick up bell housing on and well wallah you have 4l60e tow haul for a truck. Oh and we use the Trailblazer converter we had one customer even notice the difference. I guess I answered my own question it is not worth the effort for the gain. I was just speaking to my boss and he told me he uses the TB converter I always assumed we used the truck converters.

I think this will be the thread to help many make a good torque converter decision.

I had one in a 01 ecsb with a 5.3 and 5.7. 1.88 60' behind both motors with stock cams. it also ran a 1.88 with the 5.7 and a 226/226 112lsa cam. very tame converter that did good. I think stock converter had me around 1.20 60'. tbss went 1.88, howards went 1.68. I never figured out the suspension well enough to figure out what the circle d would do.

I know this is a little old but the internet has yielded no definitive results. What kind of power can these things take? I'll be putting no more than 330HP to the wheels on a daily driver. These TB TCs are like $120 after coupons n' stuff from Autozone made from Dacco

I ended up putting in the tb converter.I am putting at least 350hp to mine, I am unsure if I love it or not. I noticed the rpms are higher before the truck moves and it has a peppy shift I also did a vette servo. I feel like I lost some torque in lower rpms. It is fun to drive though. It will smoke the tires, it will get up and go. This converter will probably be good when I get my cam. I can sit at a light and let my foot off the brake and the truck barely moves if it moves at all.
