Default TCI 6 pinion planetary 80E

I got a deal on a TCI 80E rebuild kit with a 6pinion planetary and lower gearing I think for first and second, 1st 2.75, 2nd 1.57. First off, is the 6 pinion planetary worth it? And second, the whole rebuild kit and planetary are for a 91-96 4l80e.. Are there any weak points in these years 80e transmissions? I ask because everyone has told me to go with a 2002 or newer for my swap? I can get the rebuild kit, planetary, and TCI torque converter all brand new for a really good price and go get rebuildable 91-96 80e for cheap..... Pretty much end up with a stout tranny for a great price, just curious if the later year 80e's were any better? Any input is greatly appreciated!

The only things I've seen from those older transmissions, is that they don't have the lugs to bolt the prndl switch on like the more modern versions.

The more I read about them, the more it seems like the later years were far better; electronics, lubing system, ect.

Is anyone running a lower gearing 6-Pinion Planetary on their 80e? And if so how do you like it?

Personally when it comes to planets I don't trust aftermarket stuff but that's just me. I am not a TCI fan.
