Default how can i lower a 1 ton dually 4-5" in rear

my uncle just bought a 06 1 ton dually and he wants to lower the rear like 4-5 inchs. my guess would be sit level and line up with his 5th wheel trailer hauler. is there a kit out there that would lower it and still obtain factory towing capabilities?

thanks

I'm not familiar with the 3500 series suspension, but look at the rear axle and see if it has the 2" block between it and the leafsprings like the 4X4 guys do, that'll get you a start.

DJM and I'm pretty sure McGaughy's makes an adjustable rear drop. Its a shackle/hanger kit that lowers from like 3 to 5 or maybe its 4 to 5 in.

I looked on stylin concepts site and I saw a few thing, assuming I was looking for the right vehicle. There is a 6/8 drop kit, a 7" flip kit, a 5" shackle/hanger kit, and 1" and 2" shackle kits. I don't remember any of these saying 1 ton, but they did say 3500. Hopefully this helps some.

And according to the drop kit, it should only be a 2" difference to make it level. With this said though, I know most 3500 duallys I see do have a big rake. Personally if you are going to be towing with it, I wouldn't lower it 4-5" in the back and none in the front. Once its loaded down, the rear will be saggin like crazy. Just my $.02 of course.

Like I said, from memory they do, especially the 4x4s. Like I said, I saw a 7", 5", 2", and 1" drop. I think the 5" was only for a 2 wheel drive though.

mcgaughys has multiple drop kits for your uncles dually. The most I see for the rear is 5", but that might not include taking out the lift block. I THINK the lift block actually helps with the towing/hauling but I'm not sure. In any case, if he is going to lower the rear that much and is still gonna tow a 5th wheel he probably gonna wanna look into some helper bags or else he will be bottoming out a lot IMO.
