I've got the circle d 3000-3200 stall behind my procharged 4.8 and it seems like you have to push it pretty hard to get it moving, but once you hit 3500-4000 it flies. Not really the best for daily driving through traffic. The to converter lockup helps but that's 45 mph and up. What part of Austin are you from?

I would definitely like to do that. I've actually been watching youtube videos trying to get an idea of how they drive, but it's tough to tell because you don't know what kind of throttle they are applying in the videos.
Like I said before, I'm a manual trans guy so you just pick a clutch thats good between power level and driveability and you're done.

I put more stall speed in my Express van 4L80E but that being said the stock dual stator 4.3 4L80E GM B82 converter I had in it before had alot more STR than the high stall. From a dead stop through about 30 mph the stock high str converter that stalled about 2,300 rpm had a better take-off than the 2,700 rpm low str that I have now. Once the weight is rolling the new smaller, lighter converter is definately noticeable. With the higher stall speed the RPMs do not drop as much on upshifts and 0-80 times did improve.
