Default Deep ANUS?

I saw a post the other day about deep pans. My first thought about deep pans has always been "Why waist money?" My understanding is deep pans are for added fluid that has one benefit, extra cooling. If that is the case why would you every waist a penny on a pan when you can add a large cooler that will do a much better job. If you want to add another quart or so of capacity why not add an external filter so you have a bit extra capacity and extra filtration.

Is there any other reason for extra fluid outside of the cooling?

Stock taper back 80e pan sucks for hard launches as fluid sloshes out of pan. Maybe someone is running the largest cooler they can fit and want more capacity and cooling. Cooler doesn't do a whole sitting still, so someone on a trans brake needs the capacity for cooling. Numerous reasons.

If I drop my Trans again for a refresh I'll def be doing a deep pan.

I think it's worth the 100-150 bucks. Plus that have drain plugs and my stock 4l70 pan does not.

I will never use a pan without a drain, I hate that.

Many I see are 200 and 300 not 100-150.

A cooler with aux fan is less money and more effective at least at 300+ for the pan.

do you understand why the pans have fins on them? once you figure that out youll understand the reason why for the aftermarket larger pans

Some pans are used in off road a lot due to the added strength also, factory stamped pans are weak. A aluminium finned pan with extra capacity will disipate heat much better then a stamped sheet metal pan.

I run two coolers and a deep pan.

If I remember right I paid 150 or so for my Hughes pan when I caught it on a good sale.

Yes I fully understand the main reason for an aftermarket pan. I am not an idiot unlike many people around here like to think. At $300+ for a pan ( the price most of them I have seen) it is not nearly as effective as a cooler with a fan.

Therfore it seems like waisted money in my eyes. That is why I asked. If you can get a pan around $100 it makes much more sense. The added strength is also a good point.
