Default z71 shocks

so it looks like i need shocks on my 2005 RCSB stepside z71. should i just go to the dealer and pick up stock ones or are there better ones? I was looking at edelbrock IAS and they say they handle better than stock shocks but i bought the z71 package on the truck specifically for towing and handling compared to the standard 4wd shocks.

Like always any input would be greatly appreciated

I like my Bilstein HD's. Use the search button up top, I did a write-up on here of my impressions of them, and I know there are a lot more threads about shocks too

EDIT: Link to my impressions after putting on the HD's here

I second the Bilstein HD's as a much better replacement for the factory Z71 shocks

Did they use Rancho shocks for z71s there for a couple years? I remember hearing that somewhere back in the day. Im sure it's wrong but I always wondered that. "If I only had you guys to come to back in highschool"

I believe the newer Z71 packages, maybe like 01 or 02 and up, use the red Tenneco shocks. Don't quote me on that though. I think the Rancho's were before that.

Bilstein's are probably the most popular aftermarket replacement.
