Default Belltech c notch/flip problems

Hey guys. Just wanted to know if anyone has used the belltech bolt on frame notch kit. I bought it for my 98 c1500. I went to measure the flip after I cut and bolted in the notch and turns out its not going to be enough clearance for it :s it's going to sit right on the bump stops which pretty much defeats the whole purpose of the notch. Is there anything I can do to gain an extra inch or so while still doing the flip? A friend suggested using an add a leaf. Or maybe a bigger shackle? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

What all have you used to drop the rear? Doing a flip kit with a notch shouldn't bottom out the rear. Maybe with drop hangers and lowering shackles. Or taking a leaf out might do it. I've done four or five of those I think and no problem except when just explained.

So no need to worry just yet then? I haven't flipped the axle over yet. Just measuring it looks like its really close to the bump stops. Did you use the belltech bolt in notch?

Are you measuring it in the air like jacked up? Yes that's all I try to use!

Yeah rear end was still jacked up. I got my notches put in tonight and just need to weld on my perches and flip the axle. Might have been off measuring from that?

Yea man you should be fine...if you get it together and find that it's way low just put a stock shackle back in it and go from there

Stock shackles are still in and probably staying in. Roads here are Terrible and I don't want to go with air. So this will probably be as low as it goes which is still quite a drop. My front went a whole lot lower than expected as well. I have 3 inch spindles and light duty half ton springs out of a reg cab Long box that were just cut. But ended up dropping it 6 inches and tuckin tires. Might put the thicker spring back in and cut a bit off that to get a stiffer ride that the soft ones I put in. But right now without the back dropped the front valance hits on everything even moving it around in the drive way. It has less than an inch of ground clearance lol. So I'm hoping when I drop the back it will bring it up enough that I don't have to take it right off. But thanks a lot for the advice. I should have realized it was going to changed with the back still jacked up :p
