I want to install mine this weekend, so I'm curious about pre-load suggestions as well. I already installed the leaf saddle and front hanger for them, just haven't gotten around to trimming back my overload leaf and installing the bars.

I didnt have to trim my overload. I did have to take about 2in off the middle spring tho. So i could get the front spring saddle to sit flat.

If I didn't have a flip kit I wouldn't need to trim my overload

so the flip kit is what causes you to have to trim it? I just ordered a flip kit for mine, having second thoughts now...

When I stopped by the Smith racecraft shop they said u have to do alot of fab work if u have a flip kit. I don't have a flip. I had to cut off 2 inches of my middle spring to get the front mout plate to sit flat. I used a angle grinder with a cut off wheel to cut the spring. A sawzal will burn up a lot of blades. I woluld jam a screw driver between the two leaf springs. If not the cutting wheel will bind up.

I had to cut my overload and middle leaf. Easy to do with the right tool. I had to cut the overload since it would hit the bar when the truck was on the lift. With the suspension loaded, it would clear fine. I don't have a flip kit, just shackles and hangers in the rear.

As for preload, I think I have mine with about half a turn of preload. Basically zero preload, just so the bars are touching the leafs at launch

Ok thanks. Thats the way I have it set. Do u have any problems at launch or getting up on the breaks. The back of my truck raises when I hit the throttle hard at take off or up on the breaks.
do i need new adjustable shocks. I have 89000 miles on mine. If so. What brand? Strange, Viking?? I want a good brand. I know u get what u pay for. Smith racecraft suggested Strange.
