so I have a small issue I've never seen come up here. I thought the 60e and 80e linkages were the same since nobody seems to have issues with the column shifter on a 80e swap.

I have a 80e, and stealth pro ratchet shifter.

when setting the linkage, 1,2,3,D,R&N align perfect...the park position on the cable stops short of the actual full park position of the transmission.

is this an easy fix, or do I need to buy another shifter? I've seen where other people use the stealth pro with an 80e online.

Mine kind of does that, like the park position throw on the 80e is slightly more than the 60e. Usually just jiggle it a bit and it works out fine

Mine did that using the stock shifter. bought a sonnax 80e shift bracket, did some trimming on it, and bolted to the back two driver side pan bolts. it was like the sweet spot on the linkage and all gears work fine.

I wonder if there was a difference based on model year?

Both of the 80s I've had under my truck have functioned 100% as stock as far as shifting into all gears with no issue.

I am having a similar issue with my truck after replacing the 4l60 with the one i built... Have all gears but the last little bit of park...

When i had my 80e and used a b&m shifter. It worked just fine by adjusting the threaded sleeve
There was a pin i had to remove from shifter body to allow all positions

the answer I got back from B&M was this shifter is only intended for the 60e. like others that have the same issue, every gear lines up PERFECT with the pin, but I'm missing maybe 1/4" from full park...just enough to make me not trust the parking gear in my car with no emergency brake.

for those that say their linkage is perfect, did you actually check linkage in each and every gear by removing the cable from the trans lever, move the column to that gear, move the trans to that gear and see if they line up? 1,2,3,4,N,R match perfect. see if park on the transmission matches the cable.

Maybe close enough is good enough for the parking gear...i'm not a trans expert. i'd bet that a lot more 80e swaps aren't seeing FULL parking engagement according to the transmission lever. i'm sure most slap it in and call it good without checking because the internet never brought up the parking linkage difference between a 60 and 80e.

I bought a new shifter cable bracket for the 80e. My 60 bracket would not fit abs wouldn't allow the cable to go on. At least thats what happened in my case.

Mine is the same way but oppostie. It does sometime feel a bit weird in park but a slight jiggle solvable it. My issue is that with the shift selector, I cannot pull it all the way down to first gear. If I remove the cable, get under the truck and shift it, it does in first fine. I have adjusted the threaded portion all the way out on the cable too.
