Well look at it like this... my 04 is this. Forged 370, CNC ported by Lingenfelter Edelbrock 61949 heads ( had them kicking around, they flow around 295 cfm on the intake side at my lift.. older heads but still decent for cathedrals) Isky 212/224 split on a 114 LSA cam, Speed engineering 1 7/8" long tubes with a TVS 2300 on top of it all.... My tranny? Maybe an HD2 kit until it blows up..... if it ever does.

Your extra stress over mine is your lift and tires.... but the gears should eat up a lot of that. Mine is stock 4.10's with stock 2012 Denali HD wheels and the 265/65R20's on them.. Mine will pull my car trailer probably like 4 times a year and otherwise sit and collect dust in my shop..... I prefer driving the Impala over any pickup truck and my true daily for work is my 05....

You do have double the miles my truck does though or more.... mine is sitting at like 85000. I just got mine back from the body shop so it's all perfect again haha....

I understand the want for reliability I guess but I wouldn't buy some full retard all billet 5000+ dollar contraption you don't need either.

Mines getting repainted 2 tone(i think) shortly, my brothers own a shop 100 miles away from me. We go to car shows and all kinds of places so i like it to look good and perform. Plus i drive it back and forth. I also have an 83 chevy thats lifted with a 450hp small block and 40 inch tires i tow to a few mud boggs a year. So it has to be a few things at once, so reliability and durability are a need. The rest has been done(in my sig) in the past year... All the motor work, new transfercase, both axles were rebuilt end to end, new brakelines, fuel lines, hoses, exhaust and all the suspention are new. Its in pretty nice shape now, so the trans is about whats left.

Horrendous photography by my buddy but when I got it back it was covered in road spray so I haven't taken pics myself of it yet. I like the factory color big spiral grey metallic so that's how it stayed, just colormatched handles, mirror caps, tailgate handle and whatnot. Had it undercoated... bottom about 1" up the door and lower is color matched bedliner etc. I want clear corners up front and for now stock grill.. might change that up though. It's too nice to drive now... but it does have a ton of clear 3m film on it too lol. You make it too nice you don't want to drive it anymore lol....

That looks great, here's what the trans is for. Like I said it's not a small truck. I just changed the front end from an 03 to an 07 classic, clear headlights and raised the bumper with a 1500 cap. Same pic to the left..

Yeah yours is big but you did it right with 5.13's.... hell you have better mechanical advantage than I do lol. That's my favorite Chev front of any made.. and a custom two tone would look pretty cool. My buddies 2000 is silver as well and he is going to do a blue and silver custom 2 tone. If mine wasn't the oddball color it is I may have done something else... it looks black there but it's not.

I'm running a Yank 3200 triple disk and a Jake's stg4. The Yank flashes right where it's supposed to. No issues out of the transmission whatsoever. I ran a PI single before this swap. Im happy with the Yank and won't use anything else.

$5100 is pretty close to what I spent. And that was in 2015. So the price, while is alot of money, is pretty good. Only a couple hundred difference in price between a single and triple. I liked having not to worry about if it's in od or not if I want to put the wood to it.

I've read neg reviews about Jake. As stated pretty much about his attitude. I will say he has responded to every email the day I sent it. His answers are about as short as possible, but helpful.

I sent back and forth a few to jakes, then i called,The answers were just like the emails on the phone. Short and to the point, I just didn't like basicly trying to get rid of you when you are looking to spens 5k plus. With the yank i know gearstar said about having em do the pro truck triple in a 2600, on the yank site they say from 2800 on up...so that i'm unsure of. Like said before if you look you will find bad reviews for everyone.

Today I did a little more work/research on this. I talked to Chris at circle d about his 265 triple, would be a giant upgrade over the 278. That with a flt stage 4 and it would be pretty good.( Also has another option with the regulator hd converter 2400 stall. If I come to feel a fancy converter isn't needed) $3700/2700.....Or....Spoke with dave at yank, multi disc with a tight 2600 will also get me where I need, also the gearstar stage 3 trans. $3300. Also spoke with rossler, they said a terminator 5 without a converter, old style case , no core charge and shipping $5700. I have a few weeks to decide what way to go.

You're going to spend more $ if you want piece of mind regardless of which converter / trans rebuild kit you use. I used a Jake's Stage III kit (since I'm 2wd) and a triple disc Circle D that Chris walked me through. Had my builder to the rebuild and haven't looked back since. Paid $350 for the donor 80e / around $1,200 each for the converter and the kit / $150 for the cross member / $200 for braided cooler lines and fittings / and $130 for a 30-spline slip yoke. So, yeah...it ain't always cheap but at least I have the confidence that I'm not going to tear this thing up any time soon.
