Yes the rear fitting should be longer than the front one in all 80E units from 97 to current.

I am really glad this thread came up (obviously not for the OP's failure!). I was looking at going to braided SS trans lines and I came across a site that sells custom fittings to accept the AN lines, but I don't think the rear one was extended IIRC.

GMCtrk there is -6 fitting with the extended barb for these units. If you google it you will find it. If you can not find what you are looking for I'll see if I can dig up link for you. Vince

Is it this? I've had this link bookmarked for a while

4L60 & 4L80 Trans. Fittings -6 AN

I actually forgot, those don't even replace the cooler fitting, they just clip in with the E clip

That's one of them. There is an actual -6 fitting as well to replace the factory fitting. I have not used these but I like the way they look and they have the correct thread pitch. http://www.sweetperformance.com/prod...&productId=496

Thats what im using now since im using aeroquip pushlok for cooler lines.

found these on ebay -6, -8, and i could have swore i saw a -10 the other day... Anyways $20 seems cheap to me...
