Ok guys need some insight. I know alot of you guys use hp tuners so this might be a long shot for me but I'll try anyway.

I finished a 6.0/80e in my truck. my truxk. has been tuned with efi live everything works great but here's my problem.. I am using the speartech harness and for some reason my truxk automatically locks the converter in 2nd gear at 25mph even with the tune commanding at 48.. would the harness actually be the cause of this.. Monday I plan on taking harness of an repin the stock harness. anyone have had this problem.

Default Help please

I've got a stand alone harness from a 2003 5.3/4l60e. I'm trying to use it on a 2005 6.0/4l80e. I've got another plug by the shift lever that I haven't seen mentioned in the other posts about converting the harness. It's a 12 pin connector

That is for the PNP switch that fits onto the shift shaft. The 60E and 80E use the same park-neutral position switch.

greetings , first post here on Performance trucks, been lurking and gathering info for the 4l80e swap in my 2000 Silverado ~with a 4.3 and----->

YIKES,,,, please -anyone , I just discovered my 2000 4.3 Silverado has the same dreaded 4 plug black box that the 98 im pulling the 4l80e out of to swap in ......... how does this affect the wiring switcheroo for the 4l80e swap..

The 98 is a GMC G3500 Penske cutaway van with the vortec 5.7

do I have a different pinout for the VSS pigtail I was going to snag from the old 98harness?
and what about the two wire swap in the round plug--eliminating the white one?

any info would be greatly appreciated.

My 2000 has the old black box 4 connector pcm, not the new 411 type two plug red blue .
anyone know which pin ports the new iss pigtail will plug into in the 4 plug connector ?
the truck is a 2000 4.3 , the 4l60e-getting swapped for a 98 4l80e from a Penske 1 ton cutaway box truck.
please advise, thanks

ok im attempting to get help again.

my 2000 still has the old 4 plug black box computer, the round plug rewire, routine, when you got the two left over wires,, what location do they go to on the old 4 plug black box connectors?????????

no one has posted the info, its crystal clear if you got the newer red blue 411 type pcm, but for those of us swapping a 4l80e in a 4.3 v6 truck with the old computer,,,,
we cannot get that last detail of where the last two wires are plugged --or replugged into on the 4 plug connector.

this is the closest I have come to getting any info.

ecu pinout diagram - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat
the black connector #3 and #4 are vss locations and
the blue connector #29 is vss low
#30 is Vss high.

but I still don't know what two to change at the 4 plug pcm connectosr after rewiring the round plug-- when I add a pigtail to plug into the front sensor, two of these wire holes are the location.......................

Not trying to say what you're doing is wrong, but the reason Noone has said much is probably cause most people don't swap a 4l80e behind a v6. It's overkill imo. It's heavier, has longer 1st gear ratio, and is for heavy duty applications or for a lot of horse power. Why not the 4l60e without all the hassle?

Can you eBay a pcm from a 6 cyl express van of the same year that had a 4l80e from the factory?

Sorry, I only know the very specifics of my own swap attempt.

if I wanted to keep paying tranz shops to rebuild the pieces of dukeee, I could,
the 3/4 ton Penske trucks came with the 4.3 and the HD 80-- because Roger had better things to do than keep paying tranz shops too.

are you in the tranz rebuilding buis by any chance?,

and to the last poster, I already GOT a 4.3 computer in the truck. others who are sick of the junk 4l60e need to know this info too. there is no reason to buy another computer when all that has to be done is switch two wires in one or two of the 4 plugs.
