4l60e to 4l80e swap exhaust routing.
How is everyone with 4l80e swaps and long tubes running their exhaust? Right now I'm using pacesetter long tubes and off road y-pipe. The y-pipe runs right underneath my 80e pan and I think it's causing my overheating issues. With the old 60e in the truck the y-pipe ran behind the pan so I never had any problems. Thanks for the help.

I'm just running the same as with my 60e. I have arh with their catted y pipe. I did have the trim the "ears" off the transmission case, but everything fits fine besides that. I am running a tru cool 40k and -6 an lines. Never had an issue with heat. Maybe try wrapping your y pipe with header wrap to see if that helps.

I'll try wrapping it. 3k circle d with 40k cooler. The trans shifts flawlessly doesn't slip at all. The converter locks and unlocks solid. I did have an issue with the converter clutch dragging on the cover and stalling the motor but I installed the Sonnax line to lube regulator valve, Sonnax TCC regulator valve and Sonnax boost valve kit and that problem went away. I also installed a new WIX filter. I checked cooler line flow and filled a 1qt bottle in 10 seconds at idle. Which in theory equals 1.5 gpm cooler line flow. I'm not sure what else it could be at this point.

I run a circle d 265 1A, and the trans stays in the 150° range in traffic in 100 degree Texas heat. I'm wondering if you used factory lines or made your own. If you made your own, are you running the longer nipple fitting on the rear most line on the trans?

Only for 1997 or newer 4l80es.

The thing I guess I don't understand is, if it was a cooler line flow issue wouldn't the trans and converter not work properly? One other thing too, even when the trans is 210+ the cooler isn't even warm to the touch. The feed line is slightly warm and the return line is ambient.
