Default 08 silverado caltrac install problems

These are questions for a friend who is in process of the install and having problems.

how did you guys remove the driver side from leaf spring bolt when the gass tank is so close?

what did you do about the strap that wraps around the front of the leaf springs?
the bolt that passes through the caltrac brackets rests on top of that strap.

I had caltracs on a NBS and for the drivers side I want to say I stuck a pry at between the frame and gas tank and put just a small amount of pressure on the it so the bolt could be removed........ I may have also loosened up the tank straps as well from extra movement and less stress on the tank.

As for the front spring strap, I have since switched to assassin bars, and they sit in they just before the spring pack strap. I like my assassin bars and will continue to buy and use this setup on all future trucks. They are a better mouse trap IMO

1. get a new bolt.
2. cut the old bolt and remove it.
3. insert new bolt in opposite direction.
4. Cuss GM for being stupid.
5. Drink a beer.
