'00 1500 4x4 Trans Case Help??
What are the possibilities for upgrades or improvements on these cases other than a complete overhaul?
I like to improve on the design and reliability of anything I can if it lends itself to improvement and improved longevity.
Mine has approx 155k on it, hasn't been off road a dozen times in it's life and 4wd only gets used on snowy roads. Fluid changed every 12-14k, no noise or excessive felt lash, but I've got to believe in 155k there's got to be worn components that could use freshening up.
The trans is Sonnex/Oregon Perf and TransGo HD2 built with a CD 278mm converter that stalls at 3200. How much does the transmission brutalize the trans case?
Getting ready to do the PRC heads, headers, Comp high-lift truck cam and Colorado Perf. manifold and polished and flowed TB. Should add some significant wheel horsepower. I'm open for suggestions and advice.
FWIW....
Both rears are new 4.56's and Trutracs.
Just don't want the trans or T-case to pop like fuses under the newly added power of the fresh motor.

Adapt-A-Case | Fix the NP246 NP261 and NP261 GM T-Case Pump rub-through with BRNY
This is what I use. Inexpensive & works great. If you already have a hole, or the start of a hole, you can epoxy or JB Weld it, then install the kit.

The one I listed works just fine. Billet & bling all you think you need to, they work just as well for more money. Nobody will ever see it. But I guess you can brag about it.
The one I listed usually sells for between $20-30, and many transmission shops keep them on the shelf.
