Default Walbro check valve?

Thanks for any help! I installed a walbro gss 340 last summer being that the stock one died on me. While I was prepping the bucket for tha walbro the pump rolled off the table and hit the floor. Now is that pump supposed to have a check valve in it? Sometimes I have to cycle the key twice to start it and sometimes she'll start right up without any hesitation. And sometimes even after just shutting her off I need to cycle the key twice. I just purchased a fuel pressure gauge and haven't mounted it to see if I'm kissing the pressure right away. But if the check valve was damaged in the fall and I don't have to live with cycling the key I'll just change the pump. But if I have no choice to deal with it then I'll live with it. Thanks again for any help!!

A genuine GSS340 (255lph) has a check valve. But if you got it from amazon or eBay it's possible you got a knock off as they are everywhere.

I ordered it from new era performance. I'm assuming it's a legit pump.

From New Era I would sure assume so.

Maybe check the regulator if it is on the fuel rail. I'm not sure if the stock ones develop a problem that it doesn't fully close, but if you have a return system it will be easier to pull it out and check it than pulling the pump out.

Right after I installed the pump there was a rattling sound coming from the regulator and the fuel filter dealt with that for a day or two then I switched both one regulator and some auto zone fuel filter. The rattling sound comes and goes.
