Default Walbro 450 in 01 Tahoe bucket?

So I'm in the process of doing my swap. I'm making my own hotwire kit. Should I just drill two small holes in the hat for the pump? Are you guys still using the standard connector walbro sends?

Also I have a plastic hat on mine. If I eventually do a bulkhead fitting, do I need a steel hat replacement?

There's not much room in the Tahoe bucket.

I'm about to do mine in a 00 silverado. Curious about this as well. I was going to use a separate relay and harness with a bulkhead fitting, but mine is going aftermarket EFI

I drilled 2 small holes for 10ga wiring to the pumps and used grommets and sealant to seal it.

Will epoxy hold up in a gasoline environment, as in JB weld ?
. I want to upgrade my OE pump wire size as well, run 12 gauge direct from stock fuel pump relay tab along frame and into fuel tank, and run a new pump ground wire out as well.'
factory wires look a little light, maybe around 18 gauge ?

If you mean sealing the top of the bucket then yes, but if you mean submerged in gas I doubt it.

atomic where did you get your grommets at for this? I'm about to redo mine cause I just ran them to the connector on top and the smaller wire to the actual pump wires so I don't think it's gonna support as much as it should when I need it.

Just as an FYI guys, Caswell Coatings makes a gas and E85 safe epoxy. Its used to seal the inside of motorcycle tanks. I used it to seal my homemade electrical bulkhead on my pump assembly.
