Default Upgrading fuel system questions

I'm going to be upgrading my fuel system soon. I've been searching threads for the last week and I'm getting a little confused. The truck is going to need a fuel pump and injectors. It's a 2002 4.8 with a Whipple side mount and meth at 10psi, a cammed 5.3 with the whipple is coming soon. It still has the electronics from Whipple but I'm going to get rid of them when I install the injectors and pump. I'm getting confused on what pump to use and all the return and returnless stuff. I was going to buy 42lb delphi injectors for now but I would rather have 60's. Eventually I want to put down around 500. Will a walbro 255 and 42's be enough for that goal? If not what 60lb injectors would work? What plugs are on the stock injectors?

call the guys at fuel injection connection. they will talk your ear off on what you need to get. Ask for the owner though.

Fuel Injector Connection

also look at atomic's, fuel flow sticky and download the excel and put what injectors in then it adjust the charts and will answer

FWIW BB said that i would be fine but maxed out on a walbro 255 and 62/lb/hr and 10 psi 5.3. so im going with a 450

If you want just a 255 racertonix sells a drop in kit, email them a vin and they will make the right kit

I was looking at the racetronix module but I'm not sure if the 255 is enough because I don't know what I'm going to do with the truck. I may get rid of the whipple and do a stroker so I would like to just put a pump in that I won't have to worry about changing down the road.

How would I go about installing a larger walbro pump say a 450?

How To: Walbro Fuel Pump In 2003 Silverado Ss - How To - SilveradoSS.com,

Most seem unfinished or not that detailed when you find a write up about it. SO that makes me believe that its alot easier then i think it is. Also talking wit ATOMIC, (sorry if im throwing you under the bus atomic but you got lots of good info), basically swap the pumps run the fuel line and run new 10ga wire all the way back from the relay, and new 10ga ground. The 99-02 have smaller pump buckets, so some poeple switch to a 03-newer bucket and run a return system.

Expense really isnt an issue I just don't want to buy too small of one's and have to upgrade later. I'm just not sure which ones fit.

The aem320 is pretty legit, inexpensive, and a nice middle ground where it shouldn't overpower your fuel pressure regulator. The 450 is almost for sure going to over power the regulator.
