So does anyone know what the third small ground is on this pump??? Or where it goes? Also if someone has the link for the correct three that show proper fuel bucket modification for a return style fuel system that would be great thanks!

Not that this may help you in your installation as you have a plastic fuel tank, bucket, connectors etc. I have seen older tanks with "pumps on a stick" that are all metal, tank, tube, feed lines, and that small wire usually goes to the top most part of the metal "hat" that seals the tank. It is usually used as a ground for the top of tank.

Example:

Brown wire with rubber boot is the Fuel Pump ground from inside the tank

Would it be a bad thing to just cut it short and leave it?

Take a better pic off the whole thing, it really shouldnt matter. Pump only needs power/ground from chassis side

I did install the pump seems to be running fine. just hope the sending unit never goes dry. I used an aftermarket one with upgraded wires and the sock already had the vales taken out so when I tested it in a bucket it looked to work well. the pump didn't pump at first had air or suttin in it I gave it a lil suck on the hose it primed and it started pumping lol.
