The ARH for this truck looked great. The fit was awesome and the install went very well. He has a lot of upgrades to be done this winter, but I expect big things out of this truck in years to come.

What kind of rpm do these things turn in stock trim?

What about something with a set of out of the box trick flows, cams and a slightly bigger blower (something like a typical bad *** street truck)?

Got a buddy building one right now, but I don't think it'll be done till 2020. I know he's gonna ask me what I think about header sized........and not knowing anything about the ford ****........I'm gonna be like "I wouldn't put anything smaller than a 2" on it".

Based on this thread and the fact that he reads ford forums.....it sounds like he is gonna laugh at me.

Stock they are dead by say 4800 rpms...moat shift say 5400

Heads or cams on stock motor is useless...internals are junk

Cams in the stock motor aren't worth it? I would think even with fragile internals a better cam to flatten out the torque beyond its 3000 RPM peak would be worth it... I am looking into them now. I don't want to increase shift points or go overboard in any way. It's amazing to me how clueless the mod guys are... their solution to everything is cramming more in. I think someone with half a brain could fairly easily walk circles around the times most are laying down.

I just went to a local dyno with my buddy for a baseline tune. Not having Ford software my hands are tied and I am somewhat helpless when it comes to that. Despite having a great name for himself and being a respected tuner I was somewhat underwhelmed by the whole process. His made over 400 HP to the wheels by 4200 RPM and peaked at 415 by 4700. Torque is dropping off from its 540 ft lbs 3000 RPM peak rather quick to say the least...

Regardless with the ARH 1 3/4" headers and dual 3" exhaust this thing laid down some great torque on only 14PSI. The tune is very conservative.

I went down that path thinking more of LS thoughts...labor vs parts isnt worth it for a stock motor.

My truck on 14-15 psi made 455/545 sae dyno jet
My truck stock boost made 377/444 sae dyno jet

Ford guys swear you need race gas for low 12s

I expect low 12's out of the truck as it sits. It went 12.8 on street tires with the stock manifolds and 2.5" magnaflow cat back.

It's the rods that are the weakest point, correct?

What I would like to accomplish is maintaining the peak tq around 540-560 while bringing horsepower up closer to 500 while keeping boost below 14psi, and shift points at factory level. Just looking at the dyno chart it's depressing to me that horsepower more or less flatlines at 4200 rpm.

Maybe I'm being foolish but my goal is to get a slightly looser converter in tune truck, maintain cylinder pressure at its peak tq, and help keep them higher on the top end where these heads are a complete choke point.

Is it horsepower that kills these rods? I mean most to get to those power levels by cramming more air in... That's going to create a lot more stress on the motor in my opinion.

Ppl heavily built run 2800
Mild built run 2400
No need for more unless big blower big cams

Best of luck over 440 and living

Swapping cams and etc is more money then worth..heads are choke point...stock they flow like 160cfm

You honestly sound like the girl that thinks she can change a ***** of a man into husband material

Theres some trucks that have blown up stock boost

LOL yea I guess. It's just such a weird crowd over there in SVT world I have trouble believing anything anyone says. I know you have experienced that first hand.

The converter will be tight. 2400 is most likely. I have yet to see a converter with a blower flash to the spec'd RPM. Then again I am dealing with a lot more power than the pulley and bolt on lightning guys are.
