As you can probably already imagine, isn't very often that we see trucks in the doors of Vengeance Racing (much less one from Ford!) but when this client came to us wanting to get more out of his Ford Raptor, we just couldn't say no. The Ford Raptor is known for being the king of the factory specialty trucks. It comes with a potent 6.2-liter SOHC V8 that produces 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque from the factory as well as a host of suspension upgrades that make this truck a much more capable performer offroad than the standard F150. There is just one issue...it sounds really quiet and the client wanted more power!



After looking at all available options for the Raptor, we settled on the proven 2.9L Whipple supercharger kit and a set of American Racing headers to bring some throatiness back to the exhaust note.











After everything was installed and the tune was flashed it was time to strap the truck down to the dyno. The truck was pretty wide. We even had part of the passenger side rear tire off the rollers but it fit enough and we started doing pulls.





The results? 541.94whp / 519.02wtq! That is a 204.05whp and 275.36wtq increase over stock! This client really likes to use this truck for its intended purpose so the new found power will be making its way both on and offroad on a daily basis.

Nice work! How much abuse can the internals of the ford 6.2 take in comparison to the LS engines? Is it as capable of a platform? How much boost did you feed this thing? Do you remember what size the pulley was?

It's too bad cam swaps are so pricey... I would love to see them go head to head against GM. Sadly(for ford fan boys anyway...) it doesn't take much in the way of real mods to lay the smack down on 540 RWHP these days.
