Whipple supercharger concerns.
I bought a 2300ax whipple supercharger for my 2003 GMC 2500hd with the 6.0. The supercharger i bought came off an 03 avalanche with the 5.3. Is there anything from the 5.3 that wont work on the 6.0? He claims on his 5.3 that was a cable operated throttle body... mines electrical. Will that work? Here are some pics of it so if u notice anything let me know! Also what size belt do i need?
Thanks

I am in the exact same position as you. I think there is a 90 degree aluminum tube where the throttle body connects that you will need. (and so do I)
I purchased 43lb injectors and plan to get a performance tune, so that I can get rid of the whippletronics. However, I still need more info on this part to see if I need to completely remove the whippletronics or if I just unplug the injectors.
I am also in need of a boost gauge and if anyone has installation instructions I would really appreciate it.

Glad to see I'm not the only one! I've been doing lots of research and you see lots of different things. So its hard to tell which stuff a guy should believe.

25004x4,
Since you have a 3/4ton you truck basically has a factory body lift so the charger will fit with your electronic throttle body it barely clears the fire wall, without the 90 degree elbow. I did the same thing on a 2003 2500hd 4x4 i drove it 2 years just like that no problems. and i have no clue about belt length but im sure whipple could tell you.
bowsman,
you will remove all of the whippletronics if you get a custom tune, you can also remove the pony injectors completely i made a aluminum plate and just cut a square out of gasket material to block off the holes from the injectors. it looks much cleaner this way. you can also call whipple for the installation instruction they just emailed the pdf to me.

That makes sense.. so i should have no prblem getting it to fit? Because ive heard guys hammering the firewall to get them to fit.. i don't want to do that. And the guys at whipple are damn near impossible to get ahold of.

thanks for the inital direction. I also purchased a meth/water inj kit to install since there is no innercooler with this kit. You have any experience with that? Also wondering if anyone had pictures of the vac lines on the underside of the supercharger and where they connect.
With removing the whippletronics, do I have to worry about anything else like the boost dump or anything like that. And just to be clear, when you say remove all the whippletronics..... that means I wont be doing any wiring, correct?

Well i finally got ahold of mike at whipple. He said i will need that elbow for the throttle body so it wont hit the firewall. But they no longer make them? And he said i will also need a different pulley for the supercharger. its got 4in now.
