TVS1900 cruising issue
#11
I've called and left multiple messages and I've sent emails and not one person seems to care at Magnuson. Both in the Tech and in the Calibration department. I just pulled it off last night and put the truck back to stock so I can trust it on a 2,000 mile trip next week.

The bypass actuator needs to be connected to a port that only sees vacuum. When there is vacuum the valve is pulled open, so no boost builds. When vacuum is low(high load/high throttle opening) the actuator releases and the spring closes the valve redirecting airflow through the rotors to build boost. Did the motor have good vacuum at idle with the blower installed?
Magnacharger has several different bypass actuators for various mounting/clocking options. Check that yours is mounted/adjusted so that it fully opens the bypass valve when vacuum is applied and that the valve is closed when there is no vacuum to the actuator. The set screw should be adjusted against the lever arm so that it holds the blade of the bypass valve just slightly off contact with the valve bore to prevent it getting stuck.

Right around 20 vac on the gauge at idle. Bypass opens all the way up at idle. In town under very light throttle it acts fine most of the time but still every once in a while will shoot right up to 10lbs. Running down the highway it will read 12-15lbs at times with next to no load, give it throttle and it will drop to 8lbs again. I went to order a bypass last week but the Magnuson sales guy insisted the bypass isn't the issue. I can't find any vacuum leaks on the truck though either.

I have no clue if converter is fighting it or trans and blower. Here's the last datalog I have if anybody can look at it. At this point I don't care the cost if somebody can just figure it out. Finally got ahold of Magnuson and they are certain its a tuning issue. The guy that does my tuning said that over this last few months he's tuned 5 other Magnachargers with no issue.
