Default newbie need some forced induction advice

hey new here with a 01 6.0 2500hd. definitely not new to the forced induction world, had a bunch of dsms, a mk3, and just recently sold my turbo m3. anyways long story short I'm addicted to the low wide drag trucks(usually diesel) and was aiming to build something like that.

plan is to do a low budget build until I can find a wrecked duramax. (sadly bought this truck for more then I should so trade is out of the question)

as far as tuning wise I'm used to the mega squirt but for simplicity of a build are there any good tunes for budget builds? was planning on reversing the truck manifolds and running dual 60 mm turbos. was just going to do an arp studs, maybe upgraded valve springs, and possibly a cam but other wise keep the engine mainly stock. any advice on what route to go?

The stock pcm is very capable of controlling a stock engine/twin setup using either hp tuners or efi live.

And i would suggest swapping valve springs even if you arent swapping cams. I would worry about valve float with any kind of decent boost

All you really need is like you said, valve springs, head studs and a cam to make decent power. The rest of the motor is good pretty much.

How much power are you planning on running? A 4l80e with a HD2 shift kit will support a decent amount but isnt bulletproof. Right now I have this setup and put down 460 rwhp and I have no problems

I was aiming for around 450 ft lbs torque range. nothing outrageous just something that has that kind of torque on demand without breaking my drivetrain.

Oh yeah then a 4l80e with a shift kit will be fine, I put down about that much torque in 2nd gear when it was dynoed.

And while the cam isnt necessary for a number that low it would help down low alot
