There already is a manually adjustable idler with every whipple and maggie kit, its the idler on the slack side of the blower (left side if you are standing at the bumper looking at the engine).

yes. but i always try to get the smallest belt possible so that tensioner doesn't whip back as far during belt stretch

Yea you generally want the shortest belt you can make work, but in the absence of an adequate belt selection there is some adjustablity in the system by moving the idler around. Since I thrive on making everything difficult, when I put a HD tensioner on my whipple I had to make a custom spacer to get the belt alignment correct, and while I did that I put a bunch of holes so I could adjust the tensioner however I wanted it instead of a fixed position, so this allows me to get the best possible use of the range of motion of the tensioner.

Yours is probably set fine how it is, I just wanted to share.
