how much can i bore out a 6.0 iron block?

Default how much can i bore out a 6.0 iron block?

lets see.. i have a 2 spare motors.. 1 lq4 and one is a lq9..

i have one lq4 in my truck right now


so i want to bore this one out.. i heard 370cc = .30 over ?

is that all i can go over?

forged pistons and rods.. keep crank stock and boost it??

4.040 is the biggest I would go with boost

IMO there isn't much extra to be had if you go +.030 or say +.060.

You must sonic test to know for sure. I have seen a few over .300" thick that would easly take a +.100 bore and a couple that are less than .200" thick. Most are around .225-.250" thick on the thrust but get down to .100 between the cyls. Id only go +.005" unless testing.

I would go 4.005 at first so if you have to rebuild the engine, you have another off the shelf piston size still left (4.030") without having to go to custom pistons ($$)

AutoTec pistons have a 4.005'', 4.010'', and 4.020" both 3.622, and 4'' stroke dish or flat top.
