Default 102/3 Throttle Body for L83/6 motor

does anyone know of a 102 or 103 TB for the direct injection trucks? I know katech has one but is on back order. does anyone if the nick wiliams or tipis 102 TB's that are being used on LS motors will work not he LT motors?

subscribed ...also interested

not sure about ls/lt, but pinouts on 90mm tb for 6.2 look to be the same as 80mm 5.3

my son's 5.3L 2.9 whipple kit came as a 6.2 kit, so bought a 90mm tb on ebay

tb spacer is different and 4" pulley.

i just checked and the TB bore on the 5.3 is 87mm.

I've been emailing back and forth with Nick Williams and he thinks his C7 Vette 102 will work on my truck. i will keep this thread updated

I installed a 6.2 TB on my 5.3 of course I swapped manifolds also.

5.3 stock TB is 87mm
the whipple kit that we received has a checklist. on the 5.3L option , it lists 80mm while on the 6.2L it lists 91mm

this is probably measured at the back (SC) end of the tb. Also, HP tuners stock tune files also reflect those differences

I will only actually see the 2 tb's next week...so, will report back then on actual size and compatibility on my son's 2015 5.3L LTZ

on the attached checklist, you will also see that the silicone reducing hose is 3.5" on 5.3 and 4" on 6.2 (checklist shows 4.125" pulley ??? we received 4.0")

no wiring issues...plug and play on the tb?

did you tune and change tb max area?

Yes plug and play and tuned... not sure about max area. BB did the tune but I still haven't done a data log after headers.

I see and yes that is confusing, but I measured the bore size and my 15 5.3 LTZ has a 87mm throttle body. I don't dought the 6.2 has a larger one, I'm just sure mine is 87mm. Interested to see what you find when you line them up. Keep us posted

pretty sure the 5.3 is 80mm and the 6.2 is 87mm measured on the backside of the TB not the front.

close enough...I now have both....with digital calipers

5.3 is 79.25 w/ 10mm shaft (approx.)

6.2 is 86.75 w/ 12mm shaft (approx.)

Measurements taken at manifold end of tb's
