Default 05 5.3 mod

Ok guys I have been doing some searching and have been unsure of product selection for my build. Was told my block will handle plenty of hp so I have decided to boost this truck. My plan is for a supercharger, cams, springs and retainers, throttle body, and any other supporting mods needed. Planning on buying a 5.3 from the yard and building off that, my truck is a daily and want to have a swap ready to go in once I hammer the details out. So questions are who makes the best supercharger setup, and what mods would you guys do on top of that. I have saved a long time for these mods and dont want to mess it all up!

TVS 1900, mild cam, pac 1218 springs, new lifters, pushrods. Long tube headers of your choice, there are many to choose from and I don't know your budget. Throttle body size can depend on your power goal and when you might want to go larger. You'll need 60lb/hr injectors at a minimum in my eyes and a new fuel pump, you could maybe run some 6.2 flex fuel injectors as those are 52lb/hr.

Grab a 2 bar MAP sensor too. You may want to upgrade the rear diff to handle the power as the factory G80 is weak. Then comes the weak 4L60e that will be an issue someday.

I'm sure others will chime in but that's a decent amount of things wanted.

Yes rear end is being looked at now, not sure what year would be worthy of swapping in, and I am buying a built tranny for this build so tranny will go in same time as the motor, if anyone has any thoughts on specs to order it, have been looking at a few different trannys but unsure of that as well. Price point depends on the cost of the rest of the build, but i have 10k saved so should be able to get a nice setup.

Just buy a locker for it, the 10 bolt holds a very good amount of power. Just remove the factory G80 and be done with it, a tru-trac unit would work just fine.

I suggest going straight to a 4L80e instead of building a 4L60e but that's up to you.

So the 4l80e bolts on the same? No issues with fitment or any mounts ? If thats the case I would buy a 4l80e and build that instead, just dont want to play erector set with mounts and everything else lol

There are a few threads on swapping to a 4L80e, they will give you a lot of information on the swap.

In short, no the transmission crossmember/mount for a 4L60e will not work. Either mod the crossmember/mount or buy an aftermarket one to make it fit. A member on here sells them for these swaps. New transmission lines will have to be run and some extra stuff if you have 4x4. A new driveshaft will need to be made or have the factory shaft shortened to fit. Then a tune to make it all work.
