The dyno chart I posted was with the limp wristed factory MDS cam in my truck and a 2nd gear pull at that.

I stepped up to a 265/265 @ .006, 212/212 @ .050, .560/.560" lift, 114* LSA cam that really put some step in the old 5.7.

My whole point was I felt the 6.2 should have made more power bone stock. Its rated at around 405 HP/420 TQ IIRC. Yet only puts 320 to the wheels???? I watched a bone stock SRT8 AWD Jeep get dyno'd at 350 RWHP/348 RWTQ. With a small cam and tune it put 425 to the wheels.
Find you a stock 6.2 and race it and see what happens! The trannys are what eats up the numbers on the dyno, but the trannys are also what makes these 6.2 trucks haul ***! The gearing is perfect and holds the truck in the tourqe range perfectly! Dynos are made for comparisons! Those claims from GM are underated IMOP and its bcause I drive a 6.2 everyday. I know what its capable of!!! Just a tune results in an 8.97 in an 1/8th!!! pretty good for a 5600lb truck Id say! Now to see about gettn me this camshaft!

I think the comparison should of been made between a tune only 6.2 and a tune and cam 6.2.... This way you only get to see what just the cam does...

My 2006 Hemi Ram put down 285 RWHP/301 RWTQ with a SCT tune and Magnaflow SI/SO 3" muffler in 2nd gear on 85 lbs each stock 20" wheels and 305/50/R20s.

FAIL...........comparing your STD #s to TSP's SAE #s.

What year truck was this? I know the non-flex fuel (pre '09) trucks came with 30 lb/hr injectors but I believe the '09 and up flex fuel trucks use the LS3/LS7 42 lb/hr injectors. I would like to know if I have to upgrade my injectors when I buy my cam since I run E85.

We always recommend it and include it with our VVT cam packages. It is sort of like insurance that you're not going to retard the cam too far and beat the heck out of exhaust valves. Unless you have A LOT of clearance like a tiny camshaft, an aftermarket casting with extra valve drop, or both, it is worth buying and putting in there, IMO!

Hey Matt, could a person get away using the LS9 valvesprings with this particular cam? They are rated to .580 lift by GM. Plus GM uses them with 10lbs of boost. At $70 they are quite a value. I bet the quality control is much better on them than the Comps too. If they could be used it would offset some of the cost of the cam package. Seems like the oe truck pushrods could be reused as well since they not being subjected to extreme spring preasures.
